"I was honored to spend an evening with "First Lady Mamie Eisenhower" during a recent dinner theater performance of "I Like Mamie." I was delighted to find myself completely engaged emotionally, mentally, and physically wanting to run and hug Mamie while she took us on the scenic route of her and Ike's journey together. The laughter, the loss, the triumph. All of it mesmerizing and cleverly crafted with amazing detail! Diana Star Helmer is a brilliant playwright and actress and I highly recommend catching her next show!" |

“From the moment 'Mamie' walked into the room, it was as if we were having a personal audience with her. The clothing, the speech patterns, the mannerisms—all brought Mamie to life. This was a wonderful way to bring to life a First Lady who was a favorite of so many, but who was little understood by many of her contemporaries.” |
